First time ever, I am actually looking forward to the weekends and the holidays next week. I am a person who scare of holidays - as these will be the days that I will be doing not so productive things. However, first week in IBM - has made me really looking forward to a break. The first week in IBM is busy...meetings with internal team, partners, end users...and I thought first week was a honeymoon week !! No wonder everybody says IBM is a "pressure cooker"..I can feel the pressure on the second day already - imagine having 5 projects on hand in the first week of work. Everybody in IBM is busy...I seldom heard conversation that is not work related during office hours - and after office hours (people stay quite late in the organization), and the pace of life is really fast in the organization, especially the sales department. The software group country manager, Ooi, for example, is always on the phone, if not, strategizing for business plans - no wonder the growth of software group is so significant for the last quarter. Felicia, the head for DB2, is also a busy lady - but I admire her spirit and professionalism in leading the team. I am going to love the pace in IBM - this is where the real action is !!!

Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolate

Life is like a box chocolate, you never know what you get. I have recently submitted my resignation to DICOM and will be joining a great company on 24/10. I feel sad to leave the DICOM family, where people are friendly and get along with each other like family members. However, I believe if I let go this opportunity, I will be regretting for the rest of my life - as I informed Dicom's management, as well as during my exit interview. One thing I learned over the years is that opportunity only happens once, grab when it comes along. Posted by Picasa

Floriade Canberra

Commonwealth Park, Canberra (17 September - 16 October 2005)
Each year from mid September to mid October, the National Capital bursts into colour with Floriade, Canberra's springtime gift to the people of Australia. Presented in the splendid grounds of Commonwealth Park on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin and only minutes from the city centre, Floriade boasts well over a million spring bulbs and annuals in a glorious display designed to reflect a new theme each year. More than just flowers, Floriade is a festive celebration with music, entertainment and activities, displays and demonstrations, gardening products and Australian made arts, crafts and produce.

Mom is currently visiting + taking care of grand ma in Cranberra, Australia. Grandma, at 94 years old, is the toughest lady I have ever known. She was married to grandpa, a man she barely knew, when she was 16. She gave birth to 12 kids, went through World War II, raised the gals in the family (grandpa didnt want to spend money on gals)...and the best part is, she does not read and does not speak English or Malay. Now, in the family, there are 4 to 5 engineers, 6 to 7 doctors, lawyers, accountants and other degree & master holders...and everybody in the family respects her. Grandma, I love you. Disneyland, Hong Kong - Cont'd

Ket was sharing with us abt how Disney managed the project - including the profile of the art director, who is from France and how well he was treated by the management, and the best part is, he is only responsible for landscaping only (no hands on, Ah Ket and Ah Wah as well as the rest were the working level). "It is definitely tougher than the Sunway Project and The Anna & The King projects that I was doing", Ah Ket emphasized.
According to Ah Ket, most of the landscapes were hand made, however, the animals in the picture are not done by them but brought in from else where and he mentioned that "those animals are like real". Hmmmm...I am definitely going to Hong Kong liao !!! Posted by Picasa

Disneyland, Hong Kong

Ah Ket came back from Hong Kong, from his project of Disneyland HK. Ah Wah and him was responsible for the artificial landscaping of Disneyland Hk - sharing with us how tough it was to have the sculpture of rocks, how people called him "Ket Ko", I knew he enjoyed the work very much. He is going back to HK again, for other art projects - following his dream since high school (when Ah Wah, Ah How and him could hide behind the classroom and drew their "best selling series" comics). All the best, my fren. Posted by Picasa
